I like to send funny pictures to my friends because I enjoy the laughter that results. It's the one thing that I look forward to in my day. It's a little tough to actually give you a good example of what you could do if you wanted to. I did a quick Google search for "give me advice on how to laugh at a funny picture" and just saw an image of me with a giant smiley face and a big red smiley face. It just seemed like an easy fix for me. You could just send them a link to this article on how to make yourself laugh.
The problem with this is that it is an image of a person. If my friend was to click on the link, he would be seeing a site that has nothing to do with him. Sure, he might get some hilarious jokes in there, but it's a bit of an empty gesture. If he wants to send these images to his friends, he will have to find some way to send them to him, so he can share them with them.
The funny part is that some people (as well as some other websites) use images that are not of people. This is a small problem, but it can be the biggest stumbling block in communicating with people. It can be hard to find out where a photo comes from or what that person was doing. If you send them a link, you're letting them know where you're sending them.
If you don't have a way to send your pictures to people, then you'll probably be disappointed if they don't like the pictures you send.
